The Fall 2025 recruitment opportunities include the All Majors/All Industries Career and Internship Fair, scheduled for Thursday, October 9, from 1 to 3 p.m.; the Graduate and Professional School Fair, scheduled for Wednesday, October 29, from 11 a.m.
Seventh grade art students from Shawnee Middle School recently completed a cross curricular project looking at the history of Shawnee. As they did the project, they created their own personal drawing of the historic Shawnee Fe Depot, founded in 1904.

The Shawnee City Commission recently considered a request to reduce the speed limit on North Kickapoo from Westech Road to Garrett’s Lake Road from 45 mph to 35 mph, as well as to establish four-way stop intersections at both North Kickapoo and Wolverine Road, and North Kickapoo and Garrett’s Lake Road. Assistant City Manager and Engineering Director Seth Barkhimer said that, due to a series of complaints, city staff had reviewed traffic conditions along the corridor and identified safety concerns related to both speed and intersection control.
