OKLAHOMA CITY– The Oklahoma City Thunder has opened registration for its summer Thunder Youth Basketball camp in Shawnee for kids ages 6-14. The camp is set for Tuesday, June 10 at Shawnee Family YMCA.
Whenever great Dale teams and wins are discussed, the Lady Pirates’ comeback win over Pocola last Thursday night at the Ballfields at Firelake in the 4A State Championship will be in the conversation. After a legendary comeback in the sixth and seventh innings to send the game to extra innings, Heartly Snyder’s final swing as a Lady Pirate lifted a towering home run to left field and lifted the Lady Pirates to an extra inning victory over Pocola to put another trophy in the crowded trophy case at Dale.

SHAWNEE -- The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is pleased to announce its new exhibit, “Reflections on Water,” opening on May 17 and running through July 20. This exhibition showcases a curated selection of artworks from the museum's permanent collection, spanning from the 17th century to contemporary pieces, all centered around the theme of water.

Seminole State College students completing degree requirements at the end of the 2025 spring and summer semesters, along with 2024 fall graduates, participated in the College’s annual commencement exercises on Friday, May 9. The graduation ceremony was held at 10 a.m.
Hey there Shawnee! What a great time we had last Saturday! The first ever City-Wide Block Party at Woodland Veteran’s Park was rocking the park! Co-hosted by Community Renewal and Shawnee Parks and Recreation Department, this gathering brought in folks from all over our local community! We got to share a hot dog lunch, learn about community resources, enjoy some great music by DJ Steven Haynes, watch wonderful performances by Kindred Arts Collective, observe Buckaroo Bart and his amazing rope tricks similar to Will Rogers, visit with friends, make new friends, and most of all have fun!
