The Bethel Lady Wildcats whipped the Byng Lady Pirates 11-3 and then routed Madill in two straight games, 16-4 and 18-2, to earn a Class 5A District Slow-Pitch Softball Championship on Wednesday. Bethel 11, Byng 3 Bailey Tucker hit a triple and double while driving in three runs and scoring once in going 2-for-4 from the plate for the Wildcats.
Early morning I planted wild onions, wild garlic and Star of Bethlehem plants in a place I thought would be safe, secure and where the plants were unlikely to spread. The ephemeral plants might become established during this spring and return next year.

The 2024 election victory of President Donald Trump by a majority of the Electoral College votes and a narrow plurality of votes cast at the polls understandably has been a source of great political satisfaction for his partisan base, and for his now captive Republican Party. The committed core of the president’s fervent support has experienced nothing short of jubilation, given the highly confrontational and contentious approach of this leader, especially on social and affirmative action, and immigration issues.

MIDWEST CITY – Larron Morris fired a career-best 85 for 10th place individually as the Bethel Lady Wildcat golf squad took eighth place in the team standings at Carl Albert Lady Titans Invitational at the John Conrad Course. There were 73 individuals competing as 16 teams (from Classes 3A-6A) participated.
