Shawnee bounces Bethel for first baseball win of the season

BETHEL ACRES – Parker Wells went 3-for-4 from the plate with two doubles and a run scored while Derrock Criswell earned the pitching victory and hit a home run as the young Shawnee Wolves notched their first win of the season Friday with a 13-4 thumping of host Bethel in extreme windy conditions. Criswell pitched all five innings as only two of the Bethel runs were earned.

Tecumseh rolls past Westmoore, Yukon to launch season

It was quite the day for Tecumseh’s Steeli Mitchell on Thursday in the Tecumseh Lady Savages’ season-opening slow-pitch games in the North Rock Creek Festival at the Ballfields at Firelake. Mitchell blasted a two-run homer in the seventh inning to cap off Tecumseh’s 13-10 victory over Westmoore in the Lady Savages’ first game and then launched a grand slam in the top of the seventh during Tecumseh’s 11-1 thumping of Yukon in their second contest of the season.
