$2M grant to establish AG's Cold Case Unit

OKLAHOMA CITY - Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s office has been awarded four federal grants totaling more than $2 million to create a Cold Case Unit, increase equipment to its Digital Forensics Unit and add three lethality assessment protocol training coordinators to the Victim Services Unit. “I am grateful this funding will enhance the services my office is able to provide to other law enforcement agencies, to prosecutors and to victims of domestic violence,” Drummond said.

Time change: Red Cross reminds you to change batteries, test smoke alarms

SHAWNEE — Daylight saving time began on Sunday, March 9, and the American Red Cross encourages everyone to remember to test their smoke alarms to make sure the devices are working. “Working smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in a home fire in half as you only have about two minutes to safely get out,” said Loida Haffener Salmond, Executive Director of the Red Cross of South Central and Southeast Oklahoma.
