SHS hosts Wolf Extravaganza to welcome future students

Shawnee High School recently hosted the Wolf Extravaganza, an event designed to introduce 8th graders from across the community to the many opportunities available at SHS. During the school day, 300 8th-grade students from local schools visited the high school, where they heard from representatives about various academic programs, extracurricular activities, and athletic opportunities.

Sheriff: Traffic enforcement emphasis planned for U.S. 177 construction zone

Fines are hefty for speeding offenses in construction zones, yet many drivers offer ignore reduced speed limits. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office has announced its deputies, along with other law enforcement officers in the county, will be providing an increased law enforcement presence in the U.S 177 construction zone, which is expected to continue through summer 2026.

Dale girls fall to Oklahoma Bible in state semifinals, 58-47

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Bible Academy Lady Trojans uncorked eight huge 3-pointers while shooting 55.9% from the field in upsetting the top-ranked Dale Lady Pirates 58-47 Friday in the semifinals of the Class 2A State Tournament at Jim Norick Arena. From the 2:27 mark of the first quarter and on, OBA led the game as Dale struggled to hit shots (37.8% for the game) and managed just three treys (3-of-15 for 20%).
