WEATHERFORD – The Oklahoma Baptist University Bison pounded out 20 hits, nine of which went for extra bases, in slamming Southwestern Oklahoma State 19-7 in seven innings Friday to open a three-game Great American Conference baseball series.
In a closely contested battle at Bison Softball Park, Oklahoma Baptist got some timely defensive plays and crucial homer from Greenlee Wells to hold off Southwestern Oklahoma State, 3-2, on Friday in Great American Conference play. The Bison won their fourth straight in the process and improved to 9-7 overall and 4-0 in the GAC.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Gentner Drummond is cautioning Oklahomans to be on the lookout for fraudsters after Tuesday morning's severe weather. Drummond said the number of contractor fraud incidents spike in the weeks and months after storms and tornadoes.

JENKS – The Coweta Lady Tigers converted 25-of-27 free throws and held off the Shawnee Lady Wolves 55-53 Tuesday in Class 5A Area Tournament play at Jenks High School. Shawnee fell to 18-8 with the loss and will continue play in the area tournament on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
After an insane offensive performance on the week with Braden Smith at the helm, the Oklahoma Baptist catcher was named Great American Conference Player of the Week award. In the most recent week of action, Smith totaled four homers, 10 RBI, 19 total bases and five runs.
