City in position to make revenue from new trend
On Tuesday, Shawnee City Commissioners learned more about a rising trend in short-term rentals, namely sites outside of traditional hotel stays -- like home-shares, Vrbos, airbnbs and boarding rooms.

Shawnee swim teams compete in Edmond Meet
EDMOND – Gracyn Simpson took second place in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:05.63 and third in the 100 freestyle in 1:00.98 to highlight Shawnee’s efforts in the Edmond Invitational Swim Meet on Tuesday. Edmond North won the event with a team score of 594, followed by Edmond Memorial at 585, Shawnee at 300, Edmond Santa Fe at 175, Classen SAS at 76 and Harding Charter Prep at 4.
Root control services for city wastewater lines OK'd
This week Shawnee City Commissioners approved a resolution that would allow for the purchase of root control services under the Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC).
