'It takes willing hearts to love and give aid' Dear editor, Is it true that fully two-thirds of homeless people in Shawnee need mental health care? Maybe only half? Is it true that homeless people are being bussed into Shawnee? Maybe hitchhiking in? Or can it be that homelessness has climbed nationwide, more so than in decades, and that Shawnee is only one community among thousands experiencing that increase? I don't know. It's a shame that a few vacant buildings around town cannot be transformed into housing for all the homeless, at least for the winter.
