In an agenda packet released Thursday, the Shawnee Urban Renewal Authority (SURA) will gather public comment and discuss development of the 2024 Annual Action Plan during a hearing at its Special Call meeting set for 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at City Hall, 16 W. 9th Street.
The City of Shawnee is grateful for the recently awarded Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board grant that will fund a city initiative aimed at addressing the opioid crisis within the community. This initiative involves collaboration among the Shawnee Fire Department, Shawnee Police Department, and Shawnee Police Department’s Crisis Intervention Team officers, as well as various civic and faith-based organizations.
