Tecumseh's COJC receives youth justice award

TECUMSEH — The Center for Improving Youth Justice (CIYJ) recently announced Oklahoma's Office of Juvenile Affairs' (OJA) Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center (COJC)in Tecumseh has been honored with the esteemed 2024 Barbara Allen-Hagen Award. This award, established in 2007 and formerly presented by the PBS Learning Institute, celebrates facilities and programs demonstrating exceptional commitment to improving the lives of young people in youth justice settings through evidence-based practices and a dedication to continuous improvement.

Residents invited to provide feedback for Unified Development Code

The City of Shawnee is excited to share that progress towards its new Unified Development Code (UDC) has reached a major milestone, which calls for public review and feedback. The UDC integrates various existing ordinances related to community,residential, and commercial development into a single document, which makes it easier for developers and residents to navigate guidelines and regulations. The UDC does not replace the existing international building codes, instead it addresses, explains, and clarifies the overall development process and requirements.
