Shawnee firefighters recently completed training and honed their skills in two critical areas: Ventilation training and New Drive Friction Loss training. This week, city leaders addressed some unforeseen new business during its Shawnee Municipal Authority meeting; Public Works Director Brad Schmidt alerted the City Commission to an emergency that was discovered over the weekend regarding a sewer main break that would need immediate action, but also commission approval, due to expected cost. Schmidt said staff was called out to the area of Northridge and Beckley, confirming there was a compromised sewer main under a creek crossing.

I am a long-time master gardener and an administrator on four separate Facebook pages concerning gardening in Oklahoma.
