SHAWNEE – Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s (CPN) Family Reunion Festival brought thousands of its members from across the United States together to celebrate CPN culture and tradition.
In June, Shawnee City Commissioners considered whether to donate a handful of long-empty city lots to a nonprofit organization that wants to bring housing to the area but fell short of a vote after commissioners were undecided over how much to charge for the properties. The Tiny Homes Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit that serves the state by providing housing opportunities for low- to moderate-income households.

As food insecurity grows and grocery prices climb, Oklahoma State University Extension encourages the public to reduce food waste. Household food waste represents between 30% to 40% of all food waste generated in the United States, but smart food storage and basic meal planning can prevent waste and help families save money.
Summer temperatures are here, and we have had plenty, if not more than plenty, of rain so far this spring and summer. The main things that need to be done in July are deadheading, weeding, managing pests, harvesting vegetables, and watering if it doesn’t rain.
