NBC ‘Today’ show stars to perform live theatrical reading NEW YORK (AP) — NBC News is branching out from covering top stories to performing a theatrical reading. “Today” show hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb will be among the readers of “Murder in Studio One,” planned to be read before an audience on April 27 and released later on a podcast through Audible, Inc.

Several OBU teacher education majors host ‘Night at the Museum’ for elementary students

Teacher education students at OBU hosted an interactive children’s museum March 30 on the University’s campus in Shawnee. Fifth grade students from Grove Elementary in Shawnee attended the event, along with a group of multiaged students from an area homeschool co-op. The event was held on the second floor of the Geiger Center.

Wewoka High School holds Art Show

On Thursday, March 31, 2022, the Wewoka High School art program had an art exhibit at the Deibler Building in downtown Wewoka. There were 84 works of art on display in the oneday show on the high school side of the exhibit. The elementary art teacher, Ms. Austin, also exhibited Kindergarten through fourth grade work, as well as the after-school program student work, on the elementary school side of the exhibit. The idea for an exhibition came about as a request from Shaina Moon, high school counselor, who was very impressed with the quality of work being hung on the bulletin boards in the high school hallways. Dr. Gammill, superintendent of Wewoka Public Schools, requested an exhibit that would include high school and elementary work.

Russian soprano Anna Netrebko to resume performing in May Russian soprano Anna Netrebko said Wednesday that she plans to resume performing in late May after announcing in the early days of the war in Ukraine that she was taking a “step back” from the stage. In a statement, Netrebko also repeated her opposition to the war and said she was not “allied with any leader of Russia.” The 50-year-old opera singer said at the beginning of March that she was “opposed to this senseless war of aggression” and called on Russia to end it.
