Shawnee High School freshmen recently participated in an etiquette luncheon hosted at Oklahoma Baptist University, thanks to a partnership between OBU's Dickinson School of Business and First United Bank. The event provided students with a valuable opportunity to visit the OBU campus, experience a formal five-course meal, and receive instruction on proper dining etiquette and professional conduct.

Shawnee High School student Kiley Sartin recently participated in the prestigious Page Program at the Oklahoma State Capitol, gaining firsthand experience with state government and the legislative process.

Oklahoma Baptist University students earned top honors at the Collegiate International Career Development Conference (CICDC) held in San Francisco April 5-8. Eight students represented OBU at the conference and four were named finalists in their respective categories.

The Seminole State College Educational Foundation will host its 30th Annual Spring Recognition Banquet on Thursday, May 1, at 6:30 p.m. in the Utterback Ballroom of the Enoch Kelly Haney Center on campus.

SHAWNEE, OK — The barrels are set, the stakes are high, and over $56,000 in added prize money is up for grabs as the first Shawnee Shootout gallops into the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center. The four-day event began April 17 and runs through April 20.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Thirty-seven Oklahoma fifth and eighth grade teachers have been selected to receive fellowships to attend the Bob and Marion Wilson Teacher Institute of Colonial Williamsburg. Among local and area teachers on the list are Pamela Hamman from Prague Middle School, and Putnam City educator Bethany Holley-Griffith, who is a Shawnee resident.
