Swine shine

With some weather adjustments, the Pottwatomie County Junior Livestock Show was held last week at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center, where FFA and 4-H students from all over the county showed their animals in a variety of competitions. Watch for results from the competitions - goat, sheep, cattle and swine - in the Thursday, Feb.

OBU to launch Master of Divinity degree in summer 2025

Oklahoma Baptist University will offer a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree beginning in the summer of 2025, providing students and ministers in Oklahoma and the surrounding region with new opportunities for ministry education. The program will be available in several formats, including a five-year Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Ministry / Master of Divinity track, a traditional in-person MDiv, and a fully online option.

OBU Theatre to present award-nominated musical 'Dreamers' at regional festival

Oklahoma Baptist University’s Theatre Department is set to bring its acclaimed production, Dreamers: A Depression-Era Musical Fairytale, back to the stage before taking it on the road to the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) Region 6 Conference. The musical, with book, music, and lyrics by OBU creative writing major and theatre minor Elena Streett, will be performed at OBU’s Sarkeys Black Box Theatre on Feb.

Shawnee Baseball inducts four new members into Hall of Fame

Shawnee Baseball proudly welcomed four new members into its Hall of Fame during the annual banquet held on Thursday, February 13, at Gordon Cooper Technology Center. The event brought together over 100 attendees to celebrate the rich history and accomplishments of Shawnee baseball while honoring the newest inductees: Dwight Atchley, David Porter, Jim Robertson, and Larry James.
