PATCH lunch meeting topics showcase behavioral health, Work Ready program

At January's PATCH (Pottawatomie Alliance Towards Community Health) meeting, attendees heard from two organizations -- they had an opportunity to hear from Linda Johns about the great work happening at Red Rock Behavioral Health, specifically with the Shawnee Crisis Unit and Urgent Recovery Center, and Lynde Gleason and the Work Ready Shawnee team, who also hosted the meeting at their new location and provided lunch. PATCH will have its next meeting Feb.

Cheering on McLoud

McLoud faced a big, physical Valliant team in the Henryetta Tournament semifinals Saturday and came away with a 63-38 win. The team was scheduled to play host Henryetta in the championship game after press deadlines Monday.

Shawnee Parks and Recreation

Hello, Shawnee! Wow, this week sure has been cold! My, my! And we might get some snow our way, so be careful out there! We want to thank several organizations who have worked together to provide warming stations this week to those in our community who might be in need. Thank you for volunteering, for donating time and items, and for caring! The Shawnee Parks and Recreation staff have worked through this cold week, making sure park restroom pipes have not frozen.
