Shawnee Senior Recreation

Greetings Shawnee! Fall and football seasons are both in full swing! I really enjoy this time of year! Even if my teams aren’t winning, it is still fun to watch them play and be out in the crisp autumn weather! Speaking of winning, there are lots of ways to “win” with the Shawnee Recreation Department! We operate several facilities, and our largest is the Recreation Center at 401 N. Bell.

Poetry Night fills Lunch Box

Paul Austen and Rilla Askew were featured at the Third Thursday Poetry Reading at 7 p.m. at the Lunch Box. Austen read from his collection, Notes on Hard Times (2019), and more recent poetry. He also read from his book of essays on acting, Spontaneous Behavior.
