The summer season for Shawnee Splash is winding down for 2022 with just a couple days left to enjoy the water park. Hours will be 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

News-Star staff Students in districts across the area are or soon will be returning to classes for a new school year so motorists are reminded to watch those school speed zones and crosswalks. In addition, drivers are reminded to follow the law and stop for school buses that are loading or unloading students.
Mayor Ed Bolt found the OBU football team downtown Saturday morning as they were working on the planters in each intersection along Main Street. Their effort was coordinated by Shawnee Forward in a project they called “Corridor Clean up,” his Facebook post read.
