FireLake Fireflight Balloon Festival earns top award at tourism event

Mary Leaver Citizen Potawatomi Nation The FireLake Fireflight Balloon Festival received the Outstanding Event award during the 2022 RedBud Awards, hosted by the Oklahoma Travel Industry Association. For the past 25 years, the RedBud Awards have recognized Oklahoma’s top tourism attractions, events, programs and organizations for their outstanding efforts to serve and promote Oklahoma’s tourism industry, according to the OTIA website.

In honor of August being Asian Elephant Awareness Month, the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden is partnering with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA)’s SAFE: Saving Animals From Extinction program for Asian elephants and international elephant conservation partners to raise awareness about the plight of Asian elephants to inspire people around the world to get involved in elephant conservation through a social media campaign, #AsianElephantAwareness Month.

Loaded Breakfast Burritos

Once you’re ready, let the slow cooker do the cooking for you. This is great over steamed brown rice or Della Terra Pasta and topped with grated parmesan cheese.
