Friends of the Shawnee Public Library receive good deed donation The Friends of the Shawnee Public Library received a $100 donation recently from the Fidelity Charitable Trust on behalf of the “Turn To The Wonderful” fund, organized by Rabbi Glickman and his wife who have been traveling the country, doing good in small doses to lots of different communities to spur more good deeds. Drought, dust, extra housework

With dry weather comes an increase for dust, and all that dust finds its way into your house! Dust is one of the biggest ongoing challenges we face when cleaning our homes and a danger to a clean and happy nest. While that might seem like an overstatement, the average home collects 4 pounds of dust per year, and that dust contains – among other things – microscopic bugs called dust mites.

Dr. Garry McDonald, University of Arkansas Assistant Associate Professor in the Horticulture Department, presented “Ethnobotany of the Southern Plains.” He quipped doing the virtual presentation from Arkansas prevented him from going to Eskimo Joe’s in Stillwater!
