SSC Public Relations team wins awards in statewide competition

Two members of Seminole State College’s Public Relations team won awards at the annual Oklahoma College Public Relations Association conference on July 11, held at the Artesian Hotel in Sulphur. The team members, Web and Multimedia Coordinator Brooks Nickell and Communications Coordinator Josh Hutton, won awards in three categories. Hutton won in the category of Cover Design for the institution’s 2020-2021 Annual Report. The cover celebrated the College’s 90th anniversary with a colorization of the original concept art for SSC’s first campus building, Tanner Hall.

BUSINESS BRIEF: First United named to Forbes America’s Best Banks

First United Bank announced that it has been named to Forbes’ 2022 ranking of America’s Best Banks. The distinction is based on customer feedback and First United is one of only 133 banks in the United States to be recognized, as well as one of only five banks in Texas to make the list, which includes a total of 4,839 regional and community banks from around the nation.

Election Board reminds voters about party affiliation changes

Oklahomans who want to change party affiliation can do so, but need to be aware that the change will not take place until September 1st, Pottawatomie County Election Board Secretary Patricia Carter said. Voters may change their party affiliation online using the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp or by completing a new Voter Registration Application.
