ADA – East Central University alumni Wendell L. Godwin was named the 10th president of his alma mater, the Regional University System of Oklahoma announced Friday. He will assume the presidency beginning July 1, 2022.

Oklahoma Baptist University implemented changes this spring that will significantly benefit students transferring to the University. The University has streamlined the transfer process and is accepting credit for more courses while also reducing the overall hours required to graduate with most degree plans.

Dr. Andy Taylor, regional ministry partner for east-central Oklahoma for Oklahoma Baptists, will deliver the keynote speech during Oklahoma Baptist University’s next Bison Connections event June 9 in Bixby. The event will take place at 6 p.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church, located at 10301 East 111th St. S. in Bixby, Oklahoma. Registration is now open online. The event is free and dinner is included.
Sabra Tucker serves as the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association (OREA) executive director. In this role, Tucker leads the work of OREA, which represents the interests of more than 67,000 Oklahoma retired teachers, support professionals and school administrators. Utilizing her education and business degrees, Tucker focuses on the public policy that affects education professionals, including retirement issues and public pensions. She specializes in assisting retirees and protecting their benefits earned as school professionals. Tucker has worked for OREA for six years.
Nearly 280 students at the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma were recently named to the university’s two honor rolls for the spring 2022 trimester. University records show 190 students were named to the Science & Arts Honor Roll and 89 students to the Regents Honor Roll.
