SSC students visit sports photography exhibit

Several Seminole State College students recently attended the Walter Iooss photography exhibit at the Oklahoma City Museum of Modern Art. Widely considered the world’s most influential sports photographer and dubbed “the Rembrandt of sports photography” due to his use of light and shadow, color, and composition, Walter Iooss Jr.’s images transcend the fame of his subjects and have come to represent modern sports culture. Iooss’s images have appeared on more than 300 covers of Sports Illustrated—more than any other photographer in the world.

Shawnee Public Library opens StoryWalk

The Shawnee Public Library had a great day on Saturday, April 23 as they cut the ribbon to officially open the StoryWalk® at Rotary Boy Scout Park and celebrated Earth Day with the Spark a Change: Let’s Talk About the Environment program featuring a presentation by The Music of Bees author Eileen Garvin and crafts and information from Okies for Monarchs.

OBU students assist Insurance and Financial Design: The Gift of Giving

Students at Oklahoma Baptist University worked with Insurance and Financial Design during the spring semester to help with the insurance firm’s marketing tactics. Mallory Lockhart and Connor Heath were students in a digital marketing class and worked together to provide ideas and resources to support the Insurance and Financial Design business.
