Shawnee native Cindy Elliott Allen as recently honored by the Oklahoma City Panhellenic Association as the Delta Gamma Woman of the Year. The recognition ceremony was held April 6 at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club and honored alumnae women from 17 sororities on college campuses in Oklahoma.

The annual Azalea Festival celebrates the blooming of azaleas, tulips, dogwoods, and wisteria as these buds begin to unfurl during the warmer temperatures of spring to the delight of visitors.
Seminole State College’s Student Activities welcomed exotic animals to campus on April 6. Extreme Animals, of Oklahoma City, brought in various animals, including a wallaby, a bearded dragon, a python and many others. Students were able to interact with the animals, under the supervision of Extreme Animals staff.
The Oklahoma Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has announced National Register of Historic Places designation for two properties in Oklahoma, including Seminole High School in Seminole County. The National Register of Historic Places is our nation’s official list of properties significant to the past.
