Shawnee Parks and Recreation

Hey there Shawnee! What a great time we had last Saturday! The first ever City-Wide Block Party at Woodland Veteran’s Park was rocking the park! Co-hosted by Community Renewal and Shawnee Parks and Recreation Department, this gathering brought in folks from all over our local community! We got to share a hot dog lunch, learn about community resources, enjoy some great music by DJ Steven Haynes, watch wonderful performances by Kindred Arts Collective, observe Buckaroo Bart and his amazing rope tricks similar to Will Rogers, visit with friends, make new friends, and most of all have fun! A big thank you goes to all our sponsors and those who donated food, beverages, and door prizes. We greatly appreciate First United Bank, HTeaO, Jersey Mike’s, BancFirst, and CPN’s Firelake Grocery Store for providing some tasty eats.
