City manager offers State of the City address
On Tuesday, Shawnee City Manager Andrea Weckmueller-Behringer presented a State of the City address, walking attendees through a summary of how Shawnee’s local government functions, as well as highlighting recent achievements and challenges the city is or has been navigating. At a luncheon at OBU’s Geiger Center -- for the first time hosted by the city and Shawnee Forward -- Weckmueller-Behringer said the event offered a better opportunity for residents to hear more about its government in that setting, as opposed to being served as an administrative report tacked to the end of an already-lengthy commission meeting.
