Voters in eight counties reject millage increase for Mid-America Technoloy Center
Voters in eight central Oklahoma counties, including 63 voters casting ballots in Pottawatomie County, overwhelming rejected a proposed millage increase on their property taxes Tuesday that would have funded a proposition for Mid-America Technology Center (MATC). The proposal, which asked for a 3 mill increase for its building fund, failed with 75.15 percent voting against it.

Humane Society granted custody of dogs in Stroud case; 408 charges filed
Last month, longtime pet store and facility Add Love Pets, LLC, in Stroud, was shut down in a multi-agency effort and investigation as hundreds of dogs were rescued by the Humane Society of Tulsa. In the past month, a massive rehabilitation effort has been ongoing to care for the Maltese dogs.
