Shawnee couple to lead tour of Israel in 2023

“Walk Where Jesus Walked” is a tour of Israel hosted by Cliff and Judi Craig of Shawnee. The tour is scheduled for May 29June 8, 2023. Sites to be seen have been selected by Cliff and will feature the major tour stops as well as Biblical sites of the Old and New Testaments. A professional guide will lead viewing Caesarea Philippi, Megiddo, Nazareth, Bethsaida, Capernaum, Mount of Beatitudes, the “Jesus boat,” and more.

HTeaO construction progresses; cement poured Thursday

Though no opening date or estimate has been shared yet, signs of progress are visible. On Thursday morning cement was finally being poured at the soon-to-be HTeaO business, at 3304 N. Kickapoo. According to its website, at hteao.com, a message reading, “Coming Soon,” remains the only information available online, but a representative from HTeaO said the goal is to have an opening at the beginning of the year.

Certified Healthy Oklahoma applications are open

The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) has started accepting applications for the 2022 Certified Healthy Oklahoma Program. Certified Healthy Oklahoma – a collaborative effort of OSDH, The Oklahoma Academy, Oklahoma Turning Point Council and the State Chamber of Oklahoma – is a public health initiative launched in 2003 to recognize businesses and organizations that implement best practices and policies that support improved health and wellness.

Hay Bales: Reducing calving season loss

Calving season is a critical time of the year for any cow-calf operation. Management during this phase of production must be the best. Producers must strive to 1) Get calves here alive, 2) Keep them alive, and 3) Keep them healthy. It sounds straightforward but it is often a challenge. Research has shown that a calf that gets sick in the first 45 days will weigh 35-40 lbs. less on average at weaning than a calf that does not get sick. We also know that cows that experience calving difficulty will rebreed later and/or more likely to open.
