Kerbs keeps House seat; Green takes Senate post

On Tuesday, voters headed to the polls to make their choices in the Midterm Election. Ballot decisions included posts like governor, superintendent of public instruction, state Rep. District 26 and Pottawatomie County Commissioner Seat 3, among others. State Representative, District 26 Incumbent Dell Kerbs, Republican, held onto his seat for a fourth term, securing 7,002 votes – or 67.53 percent of the vote.

Abbigale Thompson defeats incumbent Pottawatomie County commissioner

Republican Abbigale Thompson on Tuesday defeated longtime incumbent Eddie Stackhouse for the office of District 3 Pottawatomie County commissioner. After serving as District 3 commissioner since 2012, Stackhouse, a Democrat, lost his bid for re-election by a margin of 135 votes, according to unofficial results posted by the State Election Board until elections are certified on Friday.
