As we end out this year with our last garden article, I want to take a few minutes of your time to explain about the OSU Master Gardener Program. This program is designed to teach about gardening and empower the members to then in turn volunteer in the community through garden education programs and projects in our community. This group also has a lot of horticulture experience to share, so the fellowship is really fun.

Monsters on Main draws costumed crowd

Depot repair updates continue as city eyes options, funding

The process of getting the Santa Fe Depot repaired and renovated continues to inch forward as another update was offered recently by City of Shawnee Community Development Director Rian Harkins. Citing community feedback opportunities in recent months, Harkins said some of the takeaways from discussions include the community’s desire to preserve the depot and find ways to use the building as a draw for downtown, as well as honor Shawnee’s history.
