Federal plan puts Oklahoma public broadcasting funding at risk

WASHINGTON – More than $6 million in public broadcasting funding in Oklahoma could be at risk following a vote by the House Appropriations Committee Wednesday. More than $1 million of that is for the state‘s NPR stations, including KGOU in Norman, KOSU in Oklahoma City and KWGS in Tulsa, KCCU in Lawton, KUCO in Edmond and KCNP in Ada, which is owned by the Chickasaw Nation.

Richard Glossip set to be retried a third time 25 years after first trial

WASHINGTON — Richard Glossip, now 62, who has had nine dates set for his execution and has eaten three “last” meals since he was first sentenced to death 25 years ago, next week will turn another page in his long-running legal odyssey. Glossip- the death row prisoner whose case has drawn national scrutiny and sympathizers for more than two decades, will face prosecutors from the Oklahoma attorney general’s office rather than lawyers from the Oklahoma County district attorney.
