OBU to launch Engineering in Fall 2023 with three degree options

Oklahoma Baptist University announces the launch of three new engineering programs beginning with the fall semester of 2023. The degree options will include Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering. Each of the degree programs will be taught in a context that relates to the aerospace industry but will prepare students for entry into any industry requiring these engineering degrees.

SFD Clowns fire it up at middle school

Clowns use fun show to share important safety and prevention message The Shawnee Fire Department (SFD) is in the middle of its annual Prevention Week awareness effort; Thursday night the team held a public performance at Shawnee Middle School. The program, now in its 30th year, features local fire clowns — with the help of their Fire Dog, Sparky — teaching area children fire and life safety topics like, Stop, Drop and Roll, 911 and the importance of staying calm during an emergency.
