OKLAHOMA CITY – The official 9/11 Remembrance “Freedom Flag” will be flown at the Oklahoma State Capitol through Sept. 16 in remembrance of the victims who died, first responders and military personnel that responded to the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

The Seminole State College Student Government Association has selected its officers for the 2022-2023 academic year. The three officers were welcomed into their new roles at a luncheon with SSC President Lana Reynolds. The SGA officers are President Georgia Ledford, of Tecumseh; Vice President Danielle Sullivan, of Holdenville; and Secretary Katherine Nicole Cheatwood, of Seminole.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars offers student scholarships through Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy contests. Patriots Pen is open to 6th through 8th grade students enrolled, public, private or parochial schools in the U.S.
The Seminole State College President’s Leadership Class visited Riversport OKC on Sept. 9. Riversport is located along the Oklahoma River in downtown Oklahoma City’s Boathouse District. PLC students participated in teambuilding exercises and then took to the water.
