The community art gallery is presenting its third annual September Salon Art Show at the Shawnee Mall, which will feature area artists and artwork. Art-related activities are planned, as well as art demonstrations.

SSC Student Government Association names new officers

The Seminole State College Student Government Association has selected its officers for the 2022-2023 academic year. The three officers were welcomed into their new roles at a luncheon with SSC President Lana Reynolds. The SGA officers are President Georgia Ledford, of Tecumseh; Vice President Danielle Sullivan, of Holdenville; and Secretary Katherine Nicole Cheatwood, of Seminole.

Princeton Review names OBU Best in the West for 18th year

The Princeton Review has named Oklahoma Baptist University as one of the best colleges and universities in the western United States for the 18th consecutive year. OBU was one of the 126 institutions named for its academic standing in the “Best in the West” section of the educational research firm’s website feature, “2023 Best Colleges: Region by Region.” The Princeton Review annually salutes colleges and universities across the nation as academically exceptional and well worth the consideration of potential students. Universities are recognized in five different zones: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, West and International. OBU is one of only seven Oklahoma universities included in the “Best in the West” list for academic excellence.
