Biden administration awards $1 billion for economic projects

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo are announcing $1 billion worth of federal grants for manufacturing, clean energy, farming, biotech and other sectors that will go to 21 regional partnerships. The winners were chosen from 529 initial applicants vying for grants that were part of last year’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package.

Northridge begins study of the Gospel of John

An informal, but in-depth study of the Gospel of John will be offered for adults Monday evenings at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. beginning Sept. 12, running through Dec. 12. Emphasis will be placed on the purpose of John’s writing and the conceptual word pictures he uses to describe Christ on earth. The teachings of Christ will be studied in context of their original settings, with lasting messages for today. The instructor is Cliff Craig, recently retired from over 40 years of teaching Bible in churches and colleges. The study is free to all and will meet at Northridge Church of Christ, 1001 E MacArthur.
