Pott. County Sheriff’s Office monitoring vehicle thefts, burglaries

By Elisabeth Slay The Shawnee News-Star eslay@news-star.com Throughout 2022, the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office has responded and investigated various vehicles thefts and thefts from vehicles. According to Sheriff Mike Booth, reports show since January of this year, there have been about 53 vehicles stolen and 21 burglaries from vehicles throughout the county.

OTA Board approves toll rates for PlatePay conversion; $10M for cable barrier installation

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority board approved two agenda items at its Tuesday, Aug. 23, meeting aimed at aiding in the conversion to PlatePay (cashless tolling). The routine vote helps establish the PlatePay toll rates for drivers along the Cimarron Turnpike as well as PlatePay and PIKEPASS rates for drivers on the new Gilcrease Expressway Turnpike, which is expected to open in September.
