In the ongoing effort to stay in sync with state law regarding medical marijuana regulations, this week Shawnee leaders amended city code to reflect the recent passage of Senate Bill 1726. In September of 2018, the City of Shawnee approved an ordinance to amend Chapter 8 of city code and establish an article regarding Medical Marijuana.

Eureka! The night after the expected peak performance of the Perseid Meteors, I saw three helicopters, two satellites and one large green streaker that left a trail across the sky. Another little short fireball shot through the dipper of the Big Dipper. The nearly full moon was rising. The brilliant moonlight masked the appearance of most the meteors. I was lucky.
