A parent speaks up
By Elisabeth Slay The Shawnee News-Star eslay@news-star.com After a challenging last school year, Meeker resident and mother Cassie Beeson continues fighting for the education of her 12-year-old daughter Anna Birdsong. Over the course of the 2021-2022 school year, Beeson said she had several meetings at Meeker Public Schools regarding the treatment of her daughter and her schooling, including addressing the Meeker Board of Education during its regular meeting May 9.
