Election Board reminds voters about party affiliation changes

Oklahomans who want to change party affiliation can do so, but need to be aware that the change will not take place until Sept. 1, Pottawatomie County Election Board Secretary Patricia Carter said. Voters may change their party affiliation online using the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp or by completing a new Voter Registration Application.

Lisa Lempges leaving Shawnee library

Though she’s not going very far down the road, Shawnee residents will undoubtedly soon notice the absence of a local librarian. Making a shift in location and position, longtime Information Services Manager Lisa Lempges, with Shawnee Public Library, is taking over as the McLoud library’s new branch manager.

SSC hosts two STEM summer camps; students build a ‘tiny house’

Seminole State College hosted two Summer Academies for Mathematics Science and Multidisciplinary Studies funded by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education from July 17 to July 22. In the Engineering and Construction Management camp, 16 students built a “tiny house.” Tiny Houses are part of an architectural and social movement that advocates for downsizing living spaces.
