Classroom incident allegation prompts parental concern, student protests

An alleged incident reported in a Shawnee High School classroom on Friday, May 9, has prompted parents to air concerns with the district and on social media, while several students also held a protest across the street from the school on Wednesday to raise their concerns. Shawnee's police chief, on Thursday, also confirmed a police investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Seminole resident sentenced for involuntary manslaughter

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Lucas Wayne Cullum, aka Lucus Wayne Cullum, 26, of Seminole, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 84 months in prison for one count of Involuntary Manslaughter in Indian Country. The charge arose from an investigation by the Seminole Nation Lighthorse Police Department, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
