Red Cross registers hundreds of Ukrainian POWs from Mariupol KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — The Russian military said Thursday that more Ukrainian fighters who were making a last stand in Mariupol have surrendered, bringing the total who have left their stronghold to 1,730, while the Red Cross said it had registered hundreds of them as prisoners of war. The International Committee of the Red Cross said that the registrations of Ukrainian prisoners of war, which included wounded fighters, began Tuesday under an agreement between Russia and Ukraine.

Inaugural Oklahoma Craft Beer Week is May 16-20

The Craft Brewers Association of Oklahoma (CBAO) has launched inaugural Oklahoma Craft Beer Week, observed May 16-20, as a statewide initiative to promote small, independent Oklahoma breweries. This week-long celebration will feature several events and promotions inside taprooms across the state as well as the rollout of “Trail Mix,” a beer collaboration among 44 Oklahoma breweries.

Memorial Day forecast points to sizzlin’ summer travel

The unofficial start to summer will be a busy one this year as AAA predicts 39.2 million people nationwide will travel 50 miles or more from home this Memorial Day weekend. This is an increase of 8.3% over 2021, bringing travel volumes almost in line with those in 2017. Air travel continues to rebound, up 25% over last year, the second-largest increase since 2010. With volumes closing in on pre-pandemic levels, AAA urges travelers to book now and remember flexibility is key this Memorial Day weekend.
