OBU commissions students and employees for global service

Oklahoma Baptist University held a special chapel service April 27 to commission almost 100 students and employees who will serve this summer on Global Outreach trips (GO trips), in internships or at camps. The commissioning service took place inside Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium. The student body worshiped together and prayed over teams of people who will represent the University all around the world.

Good morning, Shawnee! May is here, and I see pretty flowers popping up all over town. More are surely on the way, and as well as much more spring-like weather! Spring is such a fun time to enjoy lots of green and other pastel colors. Just watch out for that Oklahoma wind!

Dance around the Maypole

The night of April 30th in northern Europe and Scandinavia is Walpurgis Night. The Anglo-Saxon Saint Walpurga (710-777) was born in Devon England. In 761 she became an abbess of the monastery in Heidenheim and had a reputation for fighting whooping cough, exorcizing demons, and banishing rabies and witches. She was very popular in Germany. On May first 870 her relics were moved to Bavaria and placed next to her two brothers who were also saints.
