SMS student presents Potawatomi Language skills
Shawnee Middle School sixth grader Lilly Hennen read a paragraph to the Shawnee Board of Education Monday night. She wrote the paragraph in the Potawatomi Language, which she learned in her class at SMS.

Attorney challenging special US Senate election refiles case OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An attorney seeking to stop a special election for a soon-to-be-vacant U.S. Senate seat in Oklahoma has refiled his lawsuit in federal court.
McLoud School Foundation selects 18 teacher grant recipients
The McLoud School Foundation recently selected 18 teachers to receive grants totaling $12,997.85. The grant will allow the recipient teachers from McLoud Public Schools to purchase a variety of educational supplies. In total, 35 teachers submitted teacher grant applications for a total request of over $28,707.00
Lenten Rose plants
About 20 years ago I purchased two Lenten Rose plants, also known as Helebores, and planted them on the east side of our home under a pecan tree. During the winter they get sun until noon. After the tree leafs out they are in the shade. They consistently begin blooming in January with pink blooms. After Easter the blooms begin to turn white, wither and are clipped off in May. After that the bush just has green leaves. This plant is is winter hardy but does do better if covered when the temperature is in the 20s or lower.
Social Security Administration to resume in-person services
The Social Security Administration will once again begin offering in-person services at local office this week. “I am pleased to announce that at local offices this week Social Security offices will restore in-person services, including for people without an appointment, on April 7, 2022,” said Kilolo Kijakazi, acting commissioner of the Social Security Administration.
