Authorities shut down illegal marijuana grow operation in Pott. County

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division, and Drone Division on Tuesday assisted the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office in executing a search warrant at an illegal marijuana grow operation located north of the intersection of Highway 99 and Hazel Dell Road. According to PCSO reports, Pottawatomie County Emergency Management supported the operation by flying drones to provide aerial coverage, and Pottawatomie County District 1 crews assisted by bringing out equipment to help collect and transport the seized marijuana plants.

Three Shawnee teams compete in regional robotics event

Once again, Shawnee youth showed up strong in their bid to be counted among the leaders in the Science and Tech competitions. Over three days this weekend, FireLake Arena played host to robotics teams in the annual FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition - Oklahoma Regional, which honors teams for design excellence, competitive play, sportsmanship, and high impact partnerships between schools, businesses, and communities.
