April 1 election: Pott. County education tax up for vote

Set for election Tuesday, April 1, a proposition will have Pottawatomie County voters deciding whether to continue to add education funds to 14 school districts through a half-cent county sales tax, similar to a current tax approved by voters in November 2015. One big difference is that the current 10-year tax is temporary -- set to expire at the end of June; however, the proposal being voted on now would be permanent.

Update: Red Cross response to Oklahoma wildfires

The American Red Cross continues to provide recovery support to Oklahomans impacted by wildfires as disaster workers complete services to meet communities' immediate needs. The Red Cross and Oklahoma Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) partners hosted Multi Agency Resource Centers (MARCs) in Mannford, Stillwater, Guthrie and Norman to support Oklahomans affected by recent wildfires.
