SHS celebrates Spring Homecoming

Shawnee - Shawnee High School celebrated its Spring Homecoming on Friday, January 31, at the Shawnee High School Performing Arts and Athletic Center. This year's theme, "You Got the Beat," added a touch of gold to the hype of the festivities, with the Homecoming King and Queen crowned in a special ceremony held before the Lady Wolves tip-off.Candidates included:Baseball: Alex ThompsonBasketball: Allyson McAlister, Daytain PattonGolf: Kanynn Kaseca, Chicago HerronPom: Mia Bryant, Katy BrockSoccer: Addison Williams, Gage KarnerTennis: Emelia Bronson, Hagen WellsTrack: Damian PinedaWrestling: Eliana Banks, Trenton McCuneWrestling representative, Trenton McCune was crowned as the 2025 Spring Homecoming King, and representing golf, Kanynn Kaseca was crowned Queen.On the court, the Lady Wolves delivered a dominant performance, securing a 54-33 victory over Bishop Kelley.

Shawnee Little Theatre's production of 'Misery' opens Feb. 7

The mastermind behind many of today’s most acclaimed thrillers, Stephen King, comes to Shawnee Little Theatre with a stage version of "Misery" from his best-selling book and acclaimed movie. Adapted and written for the stage by Academy Award winning author William Goldman, the play tells the story of a former nurse who kidnaps a romance novelist after he kills off her favorite character, Misery Chastain, in his latest book.
