Alice Lavern (Kepler) Fancher

On August 24, 2022, Alice Lavern Fancher peacefully passed away with her loving family at her bedside. Alice Lavern Kepler was born January 30, 1938 in the El Reno Hospital. Alice was one of three children born to Roy George Kepler and Ethel Celeste Patzack Kepler. Alice and her family lived in rural Okarche until she was 10 years old and they moved to El Reno, living there until 1972. Alice was a 1956 graduate of El Reno High School. In 1972, she moved to Yukon and thereafter lived in the Oklahoma communities of Glencoe and Stillwater. Alice’s final years were spent at Primrose Assisted Living Facility in Shawnee where she had resided since April 2018. Alice loved her family and from her they learned to be caring, generous and giving to others. Always working hard to help support her family, Alice worked 9 years with Rock Island Railroad, then 20 years with the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees, Inc., American Postal Workers Union, Retiree, National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association, American Legion Auxiliary of El Reno. Alice lived and loved throughout her life suffering the heart break and loss of two husbands: Robert E. Caldwell, married April 2, 1966 and deceased 1977, Gary Ray Fancher, Sr. married April 26, 1980, and deceased 1998. She was a BIG fan of Thunder Basketball and watching her team was her favorite pastime. Alice is survived by her children Anthony Lee and Sherri Ann Caldwell of Park Hill, OK, and Tamyra F. and Gary Ray Fancher Jr. of Glencoe, OK; brother Buddy L. and Geneva R. Kepler of Moore, OK; sister Joy A. and Roger N. Hennen of Henryetta, OK; grandchildren Larry D. Fancher, Serena and Wess Yother, Matthew and Kristin Campbell, Kelsey Caldwell-Jones and Sean Jones, Kyle Caldwell and Kraig Caldwell; ten great grandchildren; 9 nieces, 12 nephews; her constant companions Miss Kitty and Midnight and her caregivers at Primrose Assisted Living Facility in Shawnee

Dorothy Frances Kroos

Dorothy Frances Kroos was born September 17, 1938 and departed this life on August 25, 2022, in Prague, at the age of 83. Dorothy was the daughter of Charley and Jewell Novotny, and grew up with nine siblings. She met the love of her life, George, in Prague, and they were married in June of 1959, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. They were married for 52 years. Dorothy spent her life as a homemaker, devoted and loving wife, and wonderful and caring mother. She loved taking care of her family and friends, loved cooking large meals, gardening and sewing. She loved music, dancing and singing along to songs. Because of her Czech heritage, she loved going to the Prague Czech Festival every year with her family and loved dancing all of the Czech dances. Dorothy was an excellent cook and loved making Kolaches and Klobases for her family and friends several times a year. Dorothy’s Kolaches were a favorite dessert among her family and many friends. She would make dozens of Kolaches at a time, several times a year and loved sharing the Kolaches with her family and close friends. You could often find Dorothy outside tending her flowerbeds and weeding and taking care of her garden. She had a green thumb and could grow anything in her garden and flower beds. She had large gardens with fresh vegetables and fruits and shared her abundant vegetables and fruits with many family members and friends. Dorothy was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. She attended mass with her family every week and donated pies and cakes to church functions for many years as an active member. She also cooked for several neighbors in need when they were ill and unable to cook for themselves. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, friend and will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; brothers and sisters, Betty Ann, Jane, John, Jim, Charlie, Charlene and her parents, Charley and Jewell.
