Donald Dale Norris, 75, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 in Shawnee. He was born January 4, 1947 to Roy and Minnie Norris in Clinton, Oklahoma.

Nona Faith Greenfield, 68, passed peacefully from this life surrounded by her family on May 31, 2022, at her home in Shawnee. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.

Carolyn Marie Kersey Corwin, 78, of Crescent, OK, passed away on May 27th, 2022 after a long battle with poor health. Carolyn was born on October 1st, 1943 in Trousdale, Oklahoma to Herman and Louise Compton Kersey.

Sandra Sue (Case) Smith, passed away in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the age of 84. She was born in Paden, Oklahoma, on May 31, 1937. She was the daughter of Kinley and Helen Maybell (Barnes) Case. Her mother, Maybell, passed away when Sandra was very young and she was raised by Kinley and Vesta (Casey) Case.

Darrel Ray Carlon, resident of Shawnee, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022. He was 85 years old.

Her story began, as many do, with humble beginnings. Bonnie Louise Pelts was born in Britton, Oklahoma on April 18, 1932. She was the third of eight children born to Susan Zora Springs Pelts and William Pelts. Though not the oldest, she was the honorary guardian of the bunch and she spent much of her childhood raising her siblings.

Timothy Eugene Sterrett, 60, of Tecumseh Oklahoma passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022. He was born June 5, 1961 to Kenneth Eugene and Mamie Lucille “Lucy” (Neal) Sterrett in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Sylvia Sue (Rutherford) Cobb was born on May 22, 1937, in Los Angeles, CA to Elmer and Verna Rutherford. She was welcomed into heaven on May 27, 2022. As a child she lived in California, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado and Wyoming with her mother and father until the family settled in Shawnee, OK in 1949. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1955. She then attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and was the first member of her family to attend college. In 1959, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education (History and English). Sylvia began her teaching career at Nicoma Park Jr. High School. She taught Social Studies and English from 1966-1968, when she discovered her true calling. Her love of reading led her to the University of Oklahoma where she earned her Masters of Library Science degree. Being a librarian was her dream job. She worked at Westark Community College, Fort Smith, AR (1969-71); Southwestern State University, Weatherford, OK (1971-72); Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, OK (1972-1996) where she retired. She decided to return to work at St. Gregory’s University, Shawnee, OK 1996-2002. In 2002, Sylvia decided she was ready to retire fully and enjoy life.

Randy Macom, 63, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in Enid, Oklahoma. He was born September 5, 1958 to Clifford and Minnie (Edney) Macom in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Shawnee resident Sharon Kay (Allen) Bussey Merritt passed away Friday, May 20, 2022 in Oklahoma City. Sharon, the daughter of Shan and Lillian (Hale) Allen, was born January 25, 1954.
