Lesley Downing Collins

Lesley Downing Collins, 96, of Tecumseh, passed away Monday, September 26th, 2022, in Chino California. He was born May 9th, 1926 to Arthur and Mabel (Ade) Collins in Niantic, Illinois. Lesley was raised in Decatur, Illinois. Lesley joined the United States Navy at a tender age of 17 years old. He served on the USS LST #603 in the European Theater of Operation. Lesley was deployed to support the invasion of Italy and France in 1943. Upon returning from World War II Lesley met and married Rosemary (Carroll) Collins on September 26th 1948 in Illinois. They moved to Anaheim, California, in 1961 where they raised their family before moving to Tecumseh in 1975. Upon the death of Rosemary, Lesley returned to California to join his son and daughter-in-law, Shelley and Sue Collins. For the remaining years he shared the joy of life with his lovely grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lesley was a loving husband and father who supported his family throughout the years. Wanda Lee Webb

Wanda Lee Webb, 95, of Shawnee, Oklahoma former Tecumseh resident passed from this life Monday, October 31, 2022 in Seminole. She was born August 12, 1927 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Ferrell and Vivian (Alverson) Johnson. Wanda was raised in Gould, Oklahoma and Oklahoma City where she attended Lee Grade School and Capitol Hill High School. During the depression years she moved to California where she was a fruit picker. She moved back to Oklahoma and began her family in Oklahoma City, later living in Del City, Pink, OK and settling in Tecumseh where she lived for many years. She married Frank Webb and they celebrated 43 years of marriage before his passing on August 5, 2009. Wanda began working at a young age at the local Penny Arcade. At the age of 14 she went to work at the local theater selling candy, making popcorn, cashiering and worked her way up to become the Theater Manager. While working at the theater she was afforded the opportunity to meet many actors, actresses and their spouses, including Glen Ford and his wife when they attended the premiers at the theater. Wanda was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 30. Wanda and Frank joined the Order of the Eastern Star of Tecumseh in December of 1985. She served as Worthy Matron two times and Treasurer for many years. She also served as Worthy Matron in Seminole two times. She loved OES and traveled extensively. She was Grand Representative to Kansas and North Dakota. She was a member of OES for 37 years. Frank was an active member of the Shriners and Clown Unit. Wanda was a Lady Shriner. She was a talented seamstress who made many things including costumes and gifts. Wanda also loved cooking, decorating cakes and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Webb; son, Kenny Webb; grandson, Owen Lesperance; and her parents, Ferrell and Vivian Johnson. Those left to cherish her memory are 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Rick Lesperance of Midwest City, OK, David and Janice Webb of Atlanta, GA

Howard D. Davis II of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, passed away on October 29, 2022, in Oklahoma City at the age of 45 years. Graveside services are scheduled for 3:30 pm Wednesday, October 2, 2022, at the Smith Cemetery in Earlsboro. Arrangements are under the direction of McElyea and Owens Funeral Group.

Floyd Douglas Satterfield

Floyd Douglas Satterfield, resident of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away October 27, 2022, at the SSM Health, St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years. Graveside services will be held at Kendrick Cemetery in Kendrick, Oklahoma on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 2:00 pm. Officiant will be the Rev. Ray Belford of the First Christian Church of Shawnee where Floyd was a member. Floyd was born in Davenport, Oklahoma on July 17, 1932, to Frances Julia Purscell and Brady Albert Satterfield. He attended Kendrick Public Schools and graduated in 1949. After high school Floyd attended Oklahoma A & M, graduating with an Electrical Engineering degree in 1953. After college he was drafted by the U.S. Army and proudly served his country overseas in the Korean War from 1953-1955. Floyd was a decorated Veteran of Foreign Wars and was a member of the Tecumseh American Legion. Floyd accepted employment from OG&E after returning from his military service. He spent the next 34 years with this company in Oklahoma City and Shawnee, in the field and as a supervisor. He loved his job working on sub-stations and valued the loyalty of those who worked with him. He was recognized for many achievements during his tenure with OG&E, but none were more significant than the Safety Awards he was presented with. Floyd was somewhat of a private man until you got to know him. He was extremely opinionated and enjoyed discussing OSU football, politics, and everyday life with his friends at Carls Jr. He enjoyed eating out and was well known by many who waited on him at local restaurants. The light of his life was his family. He went to great lengths to be present at holiday gatherings, weddings, and family events. One gathering you could always set your watch by was his 12:00 pm Saturday meeting with his sister Pat in Midwest City. She always needed something fixed, and Floyd could repair about anything.
